Description

On the afternoon of July 19, a confrontation with the police occurred in front of Gate No. 2 of Deobhog Market on DIT Road in Narayanganj, in the context of the quota reform movement. During this clash, Russell sustained a gunshot wound to his chest. He was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with serious injuries, and a bullet was surgically removed from his body on July 21. Despite medical efforts, Russell passed away on July 22 (Monday) while undergoing treatment.

Due to financial difficulties, Russell was unable to attend school beyond the second or third grade. For the past year and a half, he had been working in a garment factory in Narayanganj. He was the youngest of four siblings, with one of his sisters being mentally challenged.
